These words exemplify the Business Laureates of the Junior Achievement Alberta Business Hall of Fame. Their careers are legendary. While they may have succeeded in different industries and at different times, the Business Laureates of the Junior Achievement Alberta Business Hall of Fame have demonstrated a vision unique among their peers, provided leadership to move others to achieve their goals and have built a legacy that will enrich those who follow.

Nominee Qualifications:

To be considered as a candidate for induction based on lifetime business achievement into the Junior Achievement Alberta Business Hall of Fame, the nominee must meet the following criteria:
A. Vision & Leadership– Laureates will have demonstrated outstanding vision and success as an entrepreneur in one or more of their for‐profit businesses. Laureates will have demonstrated  extraordinary lifetime achievement leadership throughout their lives and have a record of leading others to success.
  • How has the nominee been recognized for his or her significant entrepreneurial/corporate  lifetime achievements?
  • How has the nominee been recognized for innovations pertaining to his or her industry?
  • How has the nominee displayed characteristics of business excellence and integrity?
B. Integrity & Mentorship– Laureates have a reputation for improving respect for Alberta business and have utilized his/her influence to further the quality of life of Albertans through philanthropy and/or community service.
  • How is the nominee an exemplary business and civic role model with a history of community stewardship?
  • How is the nominee widely respected as a role model by his or her peers?

A bio and/or updated curriculum vitae must be attached to your nomination (posthumous nominees excepted). The submission of additional materials that support your nomination is encouraged.These could include:

  • Documentary support such as newspaper and magazine articles, or reference to journals, publications, and coverage in the electronic media.
  • Letters of support, including the names, titles, addresses and contact information of individuals that support this nomination (individual or corporate).
  • A list of the philanthropic or civic organizations to which the nominee belongs or belonged, or has supported in other ways.
  • Specific requirements for induction include:
  • Once chosen, the nominee selected for induction must agree to be present at the Induction Ceremonies and Gala Dinner held on May 7, 2014 in order to be inducted to The Junior Achievement Alberta Business Hall of Fame.
  • Nominations may be posthumous. It is expected that a family member will attend the event and accept the award on their behalf.
  • It is not required that your nominee agree to let their name stand. However, it is strongly recommended that they are informed that a nomination has been submitted.
